Welcome to Connectus Utilities
Managing contracts for businesses generating renewable energy and exporting surplus back to the grid.
An export contract is an agreement between a business that generates their own renewable energy (the generator) and the energy supplier or a third-party off-taker, allowing the generator to sell excess electricity generated by their system (like solar panels or wind turbines) back to the grid.
Connectus offers export contracts for generators, ensuring they get the best rates for their surplus power.

We work with all UK energy suppliers to offer export contracts for generators. We help secure favourable rates and optimised tariffs, so you can create a bonus stream of income and support nationwide renewable energy efforts by selling the excess energy you generate back to the national electricity grid.
Connectus ensures compliance by navigating complex export regulations and reporting requirements. We liaise with suppliers, handling all communications with energy providers to set up or amend export agreements.
Partnering with Connectus for your energy export contracts means having a dedicated team to manage the entire process from start to finish. We work with all major UK energy suppliers, ensuring you have access to the best options for your requirements.
We have expertise in the SEG and PPA markets allowing us to navigate the complexities of contract negotiation, metering requirements, and approvals, saving you time and avoiding potential roadblocks. By working with Connectus, you can generate revenue from your renewable energy systems, whilst helping the grid power more of the country with clean, green energy.
We work with generators from a range of sectors to secure energy export contracts:

Supporting developers, consultants, and contractors across the built environment with export contracts that maximise the value of their on-site renewable generation.

Working alongside installers to secure export contracts and ensure renewable systems are set up to export energy efficiently and compliantly.
Our energy export process follows 5 simple steps:
01
Specification Review – We will start by reviewing the renewable system requirements to ensure they meet export and grid connection criteria.
02
Supplier Onboarding – We will then identify and onboard a suitable energy supplier to support the export contract.
03
Contract Application & Negotiation – Connectus will then submit the export application and negotiate the terms on your behalf.
04
Metering & Data Management – We will coordinate the appointment and setup of the metering operator and data collector.
05
Contract Go-Live – Finally, we will review and activate the energy export contract, so you can start earning on your excess energy.
You can sell surplus electricity back to the grid through an export tariff such as the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) or by entering into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with an energy supplier or licensed buyer.
The Smart Export Guarantee is a UK government-backed scheme that pays generators for renewable electricity exported to the grid, including energy from solar PV and wind systems.
A Power Purchase Agreement is a contract between a generator and an energy buyer that sets out the price, duration, and terms for exporting electricity. PPAs are typically used for larger or more consistent generation projects.
Export rates vary depending on the supplier, tariff, and contract structure. SEG tariffs are usually paid at a few pence per kilowatt-hour, while PPAs may offer higher or more stable rates for larger export volumes.
