Welcome to Connectus Utilities
An export contract is an agreement between you (the generator) and your energy supplier or a third-party off-taker, allowing you to sell excess electricity generated by your system (like solar panels or wind turbines) back to the grid.
When your system produces more electricity than you use on-site, the surplus can be exported to the grid. An export contract:
Example (Homeowners or Businesses)
If you have solar panels and export unused energy, your export contract—like through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)—pays you for that energy, often at a fixed or variable rate.
Example (Businesses or Larger Systems)
Larger generators may sign Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with energy companies, which can offer better rates and longer-term contracts, depending on generation capacity and grid demand.
As part of our end-to-end energy services, we assist clients in setting up export contracts to ensure they receive payments for any surplus electricity fed back to the grid. We guide you through the process—from verifying G99 compliance and ensuring proper metering, to helping you select the most suitable export tariff or Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) based on your system size and goals. Our team handles the paperwork and coordinates with suppliers, so you can start earning from your exported energy with minimal hassle.
