Welcome to Connectus Utilities
Getting your projects up and running with new utility infrastructure connections for electricity, gas, water and telecoms for all your essential utility connections.

Connecting a building to essential utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and telecoms is a crucial step in ensuring the building has the correct supply/power in order to operate.
There are a number of steps involved, including planning, trenching or laying of cables/pipes, installation of meters and equipment, and finally testing and commissioning by utility providers. These processes are essential to ensure that the building has access to all necessary utilities in a safe and compliant manner.
These utility infrastructure connections are typically coordinated during construction and can vary based on location, regulations, and whether the building is residential, commercial, or industrial.

We manage the entire electricity connection process, from handling DNO applications and identifying the nearest network access point to installing cabling, service heads, and meters. We streamline every step to deliver a safe, compliant, and efficient power supply ready for your building’s internal systems.

From submitting GDN applications and securing the nearest network access point to completing trenching, pipe installation, and meter setup, we can handle the full gas connection process. Our team ensures your building receives a safe, compliant, and fully activated gas supply ready for use.

Connectus oversees every stage of establishing your building’s water supply. We coordinate with the local water authority and confirm the correct mains connection point to install compliant service pipes and meters. We manage all testing and commissioning to ensure a reliable, high-quality water supply is delivered to your property from day one.

Alongside energy and water connections, we also provide phone, broadband and internet connections. Our team will coordinate surveys and plan optimal network routes, then install the required fibre or copper infrastructure straight to your building. From cabling to activation and performance testing, we ensure your property is fully connected with fast, reliable communications.
Partnering with Connectus takes the hassle out of a complex and time-consuming utility connection process, turning it into a streamlined and stress-free experience. We manage every stage of your new connection, from paperwork and planning to on-site installation and final activation.
We partner with vetted ICPs/UIPs and iDNOs/iGTs to review the DNO design, tender the network quote and offer a competitive service. Our end-to-end service removes the administrative burden, reduces delays, and ensures every utility is connected safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards.
With Connectus, your new infrastructure project is supported by experts who keep everything on track, giving you confidence that your building will be powered, supplied, and communication-ready exactly when you need it.

Contracts & Handover
We finalise supply contracts and provide full project documentation for a seamless handover.
To install a new meter, you’ll need both an energy contract and a metering contract. Your chosen energy supplier will arrange the energy contract and, for smaller supply connections, may also include the metering contract as part of their service. For larger connections, however, a separate metering contract is usually required. In these cases, it’s often more cost-effective to go directly to a dedicated metering provider, as they can offer more competitive pricing and tailored solutions.
For new electricity meter connections, Meter Operators (MOPs) are responsible for providing and installing the meter, while for gas this role is carried out by Meter Asset Managers (MAMs). Both use certified engineers to ensure meters are installed safely and correctly.
New or upgraded utility connections are used by businesses, developers, or property owners who need additional capacity or entirely new services. This might be for new-build developments, property expansions, or existing sites upgrading their infrastructure to meet increased demand.
Yes, you can choose your connection provider. While Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) handle new utility connections, regulated independent contractors can often deliver faster service and more competitive pricing. These include Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), Utility Infrastructure Providers (UIPs), and Independent Distribution Network Operators (iDNOs).
We offer a number of related services for your new connection project, to get your project off the ground without delays or complications.

Having a robust energy procurement strategy in place is an important step in ensuring your business is protected in a volatile energy market and means you’re getting the best possible rates. Consultus is a trusted partner who can provide tailored procurement solutions to help you reach your energy goals.

Assured Energy provide an open and transparent approach to business utility supply. Whether you’re a small startup business or a large multi-site enterprise, we can help you get the best deal for your new connection’s permanent energy supply by negotiating contracts and working with trusted suppliers.

Temporary electric supplies provide electricity to a construction site during the build process, before the permanent electrical connection is established. These supplies power tools and equipment, and are set up for a limited time, covering the construction or renovation phase.

Submetering allows your business to track consumption across multiple sites and areas of operation, giving you the opportunity to spot inefficiencies and areas for improvement. We offer a complete sub-metering solution tailored to each client’s property or business needs.

We support businesses looking to introduce new technologies such as electric vehicle (EV) charging, air-source heat pumps (ASHPs), and renewable energy systems. This requires upgrades to existing groundwork and electricity, gas and water networks, which our team help implement.

Do you have an idea for a new project? Connectus can assess its feasibility, helping you identify potential challenges, risks, and key considerations before you start. For construction or excavation projects, we conduct a PAS128 survey to locate underground utilities, giving you the insight needed to plan with confidence.
